OAKLAND MUSEUM

Admission is $6 for adults, and kids under 6 are free.

The Museum is located at 10th & Oak Streets. Enter the parking garage in the middle of the block on Oak Street. Parking: The museum garage, on Oak between 10th and 12th Sts., costs 75 cents an hour for three hours, $1 an hour thereafter. There's inexpensive parking on 10th St. behind our next-door neighbor, the Kaiser Convention Center.

From the Oakland Airport and south, take 880 north to the Oak Street exit. Turn right on Oak and go four blocks to Oak and 10th. You'll see the museum on your right.

From Berkeley on 80 follow signs to 580 East. (Do not take the new 880 Cypress freeway exit.) Take 980 west to downtown Oakland, exit at the Jackson Street ramp, and proceed straight on the exit road to the third light (Oak). Turn left and go five blocks to Oak and 10th St.

BART:

Take BART to Lake Merritt station. Exit at 9th Street and walk down 9th, with the one-way flow of traffic, one block to Fallon. Turn left and walk one short block to 10th St. You'll see the museum right in front of you, with steps leading down from the street to the main entrance.
